Automotive Diagnostics Engineer

Your Tasks: Analyze and define diagnostic requirements based on international standards and OEM specifications. Develop and implement diagnostic concepts for ECUs and vehicle functions. Create and maintain diagnostic databases and diagnostic descriptions.
Perform diagnostic testing and validation on component, HIL, and vehicle level. Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and OEM stakeholders. Manage diagnostic data and ensure proper versioning and documentation.
Your Profile
Several years of experience in automotive diagnostics across the complete development lifecycle, including requirements engineering, implementation, and validation of diagnostic functions. Strong knowledge of international diagnostic standards and OEM-specific specifications, including ISO 14229 (UDS), On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), Off-Board Diagnostics, and their implementation in OEM environments.
Experience with requirements engineering and diagnostic specification tools such as IBM DOORS and DIDAS. Hands-on experience with diagnostic implementation tools including ODX Studio, CANDela Studio, Diagnostic Workbench, DBD, and DIDAS.
Practical experience in validating diagnostic functions using Black-Box Testing, HIL testing, CANoe, ODIS, and VAX Tester. Experience with diagnostic database management and archiving tools such as System42 and DIDAS. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience working with German OEMs, preferably within the Volkswagen Group environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Fluent English is required; German is considered an advantage.
