Freelance Project Manager Frankfurt, Germany (On-site/Hybrid) Contract/Freelance Day Rate: Dependent on Experience Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Data Center Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects across Frankfurt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing infrastructure, construction, fit-out, migration, and commissioning activities while coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced environment supporting critical infrastructure developments within one of Europe's leading data center hubs.
Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of data center projects from initiation through to handover. Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources. Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and technical teams.
Oversee construction, M&E, commissioning, and operational readiness activities. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Facilitate stakeholder meetings and provide regular project reporting. Manage change control processes and project governance requirements.
Support vendor management and procurement activities where required. Requirements Essential Proven experience delivering data center projects as a Project Manager. Strong understanding of critical infrastructure environments including: Power systems Cooling systems Network infrastructure Commissioning processes Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Fluent English. Must hold a valid EU Passport. Eligible to work across the European Union without sponsorship. Desirable PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification.
Experience working with hyperscale or colocation data centers. German language skills. Background in construction, engineering, mission-critical facilities, or IT infrastructure projects.
