Senior BESS Engineer (f/m/d) €90,000–110,000, plus strong benefits Design the battery systems helping to power Germany's energy transition, with the international exposure, career growth, and job security that come from joining one of the country's biggest energy companies.
You'll work across the full BESS lifecycle, from feasibility through to commissioning on site. No two weeks will look the same, and you'll get real ownership over the technical decisions that shape each project. Flexible working is built in, with several offices across Germany to choose from, plus the option to work from home as part of a hybrid setup.

There's also a clear mentoring element, so if you enjoy developing others, you'll have the scope to shape how the next generation of engineers comes up. What you'll do You'll design and develop battery energy storage systems, working alongside solar and wind projects.
You'll run feasibility studies and site assessments, then carry projects through technical specification, tendering, and construction, all the way to commissioning and testing on site. You'll also mentor junior engineers, sharing what you've learned so far, and stay close to how BESS technology is evolving so the team's approach keeps pace with it.
What you'll need At least 5 years' hands-on experience with BESS, including lithium-ion batteries, battery management systems, and power conversion systems Familiarity with solar and/or wind design, grid integration, and RES commissioning A degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or similar Willingness to travel internationally, and business-fluent English About the company One of Germany's top utility companies, in the middle of a serious shift from traditional gas and coal generation into green power and storage, backed by billions of euros of investment through to 2030.
