The ABUS Security Center in Affing near Augsburg is home to the ABUS Group’s product divisions for alarm, video surveillance, and access control systems.

The focus is on the development and manufacture of innovative, comprehensive, and particularly user-friendly security products: on the one hand, through the combination and integration of mechanical, electronic, and digital products; on the other hand, through the intelligent networking of alarm, video, and access solutions. Embedded Linux Software Developer (m/f)

FUTURE-ORIENTED TASKS AWAIT

• Active participation in a software development team working on our innovative smart security products
• Supporting the further development of software architecture concepts for electronic security systems
• Coordination and definition of product requirements in collaboration with the responsible “Product Owner” and business departments
• Specification, documentation, implementation, and verification of software applications
• Maintenance and continuous further development of software components
• Technical support for internal and external development projects

WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT FIT

Required:

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or a comparable field; alternatively, as a career changer, you have relevant professional experience
• At least two years of professional experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, as well as experience working with SQL databases
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity
• Experience with Yocto, the Linux kernel, and virtual machines (VMs)
• Strong communication skills and a keen analytical and conceptual mindset
• Strong written and spoken German and English skills, each at least at the C1 level
• Work permit in the European Union

Desirable:

• Experience with agile software development methods
• Experience using AI-powered tools for software development and verification
• Experience with development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Xrav
