VP, Eppendorf Business System (EBS) LOCATION: Hamburg, Germany or Remote with travel TRAVEL: 50%+ (domestic and international, across European, Asian, and North American sites) POSITION SUMMARY: Eppendorf is seeking a VP, Eppendorf Business System (EBS) to lead the next phase of the company's operational excellence and lean transformation journey.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role carries strategic ownership of EBS across the global organization and will serve as the driving force and single point of accountability for building a true "one team" culture around continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the Eppendorf executive leadership teams and other key stakeholders to strengthen end-to-end process discipline, support the optimization of Eppendorf's global manufacturing footprint, including the standup of a new facility in Malaysia and provide lean-driven strategic direction.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for an experienced lean practitioner who can influence at every level of the organization, from the frontline to the C-suite. JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive continuous improvement by deploying Eppendorf Business System fundamentals and implement by using Kaizen - to improve operational performance, reduce lead times, and enhance productivity across all Eppendorf locations.
Own strategic planning and growth efforts by utilizing Policy Deployment to align business goals, follow the organization's "North Star," and ensure successful execution of strategic plans. Drive Kaizen Funnel Management and facilitate Kaizen events, including CEO-sponsored Kaizens, leading focused continuous improvement priorities to solving specific business problems across the Eppendorf Group.
Provide lean-driven strategic direction and facilitate hands-on activities, including integration of newly acquired sites into the EBS framework. Support footprint optimization initiatives, including the transition to a new facility in Malaysia ensuring sustainment of the "Eppendorf Business System way." Coach and train associates and leaders across the business as an internal EBS practitioner, building a culture rooted in "Best Team Wins" and "Kaizen is Our Way of Life." Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify improvement opportunities, and report results to executive leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 10-15+ years of experience in operational excellence, lean manufacturing, or engineering, ideally within a global manufacturing or life sciences environment. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related Science field required.
Proven practical track record leading enterprise-wide lean transformations in Operations and either Innovation or Commercial Lean transformation, ideally including facility consolidation, footprint redesign, or greenfield/low-cost site launches. Experience supporting or leading M
