The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Sacco's bioinformatics pipelines. In addition, the position will involve selected wet-lab activities (e.g. DNA extraction, PCR) and the preparation of technical reports, contributing to an integrated and multidisciplinary research environment.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reproducible bioinformatics pipelines for microbial genomics and multi-omics data Perform standard wet-lab activities when required Contribute to assigned projects, including experimental design, data analysis, and report writing Conduct literature reviews and prepare scientific presentations Ensure accurate data entry and proper documentation in line with internal standards SKILLS Technical

skills

Python, Bash, R, Linux/HPC environments, workflow managers (Snakemake, Nextflow), bioinformatics pipelines, multi-omics data analysis, molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR), applied statistics. Soft

skills

strong communication in English, analytical thinking, organisation, teamwork, proactivity, results-driven mindset, interest in innovation and emerging technologies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Biotechnology, Food Technology, Biology, or related disciplines PhD and/or significant hands-on experience in microbial bioinformatics or related fields
