Embedded Software Team Leader (R&D100)

Overview

As Lead Embedded Software Engineer, you will guide a high-performing Linux-based embedded team to design and deliver next-generation products. You balance hands-on technical contribution with people leadership to ensure architectural excellence, quality, and timely execution. You will work cross-functionally with hardware, system engineering, QA, and product management to drive impactful solutions. Responsabilità

• Lead and mentor an embedded software team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement
• Drive technical strategy and architecture for Linux-based embedded platforms
• Plan and coordinate development activities to align with goals, timelines, and quality
• Contribute hands-on to design, development, and debugging of complex embedded software
• Enforce best practices in coding, reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, QA, and product management
• Manage technical risks, support root cause analysis, and resolve problems
• Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability

Requisiti fondamentali

• Master in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics
• Fluent in Italian and English
• 5+ years of embedded software experience
• Strong Linux embedded systems knowledge (kernel, drivers, system internals)
• Proficient in C/C++
• Solid experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or similar build systems
• Experience with debugging tools (gdb, strace, perf)
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
• Good understanding of performance optimization under resource constraints
• Proven experience leading software development teams
• Ability to work in cross-functional, international environments
