reliability. /p pThis role focuses on using AI tools like Claude to accelerate development workflows, shipping robust backend solutions at Deel Speed without sacrificing excellence. /p pBy leveraging AI as a co-pilot while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals, this role is essential for building scalable, production-grade features that drive business objectives and enhance user satisfaction across 150+ countries. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 pWork closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, Designers, and QA professionals to understand requirements, scope features, and create seamless experiences. /p pResponsible for technical decisions that keep the team's work efficient and in line with the right tools and strategies in place throughout the rest of the company. /p pUse AI coding tools like Claude to accelerate feature development—generating code, handling boilerplate, and writing scaffolding. /p pYou review all AI-generated code critically before shipping. /p pBuild and ship AI products, workflows, and agents. /p pFrom discovery to deployment, provide your technical input throughout all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, including architecture decisions, design feedback, and deployment strategy. /p pCollaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. /p pHelp find and fix bugs at Deel Speed while maintaining high-quality standards. /p pShip features end-to-end with ownership: design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and iterate. /p pYou don't hand off—you see things through. /p pEnsure top-tier products and services through quality engineering, rigorous testing, and attentive, customer-focused development. /p pCommunicate constantly with cross-functional teams. /p pExplain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders. /p pTranslate requirements into solutions. /p pKeep everyone aligned. /p pUnblock teams by answering questions clearly, debugging issues fast, and proposing solutions to ambiguous problems. /p h3Qualifications /h3 pAt least 10 years of experience as a Backend/Software Engineer. /p pYou’ve shipped real AI products, features, debugged production issues, and thought about scale. /p pAt least 2 years of experience as a Tech Lead or Senior role. /p pStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. /p pExperience developing with NodeJS or Python. /p pYou write clean, maintainable code comfortably. /p pYou understand patterns, conventions, and best practices. /p pSyntax is muscle memory. /p pYou know SQL and NoSQL fundamentals. /p pParticularly strong with PostgreSQL and ORM libraries (such as Sequelize, TypeORM, or similar). /p pYou can write queries, optimize performance, and design schemas with purpose. /p pDemonstrated experience shipping real products using Claude. /p pYou’ve used AI to accelerate development and shipped features that work in production. /p pYou can prompt effectively, review AI-generated code critically, and know when to use AI versus write code manually. /p pExcellent communication skills—written and verbal. /p pYou explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly. /p pYou write clear documentation, code comments, and Slack updates. /p pYou ask good questions and proactively share context. /p pStrong remote collaboration skills. /p pYou excel in async communication. /p pYou proactively
