Field Service Specialist

Overview In this role you will perform field service on tissue machines at customer sites across EMEA and beyond, focusing on maintenance, troubleshooting, audits, and start-up support. You work independently or with Valmet specialists to deliver service excellence on site, enhancing machine performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
The job combines hands-on field work with global collaboration in a dynamic, multicultural environment. You will contribute to safe, effective project implementations and long-term customer relationships. Responsabilità Perform field service on tissue machine sections (headbox, forming, pressing area including ViscoNip, and reel) Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, adjustments, and audits Support installations, start-ups, shutdowns, and optimization activities Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and improvement recommendations Collaborate with customer technical teams to ensure high-quality service delivery Support other services or project activities (maintenance, upgrades, measurement tasks) Maintain safety compliance with Valmet guidelines Represent Valmet professionally to build long-term customer relationships Requisiti fondamentali Minimum 5 years hands-on Tissue Machine field experience in one of: headbox/forming, pressing area (ViscoNip), or reel operations/maintenance Strong mechanical or process competence from field service Ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues under time pressure Excellent communication and customer-oriented approach; able to work in multicultural environments Willingness to travel ~50% internationally and domestically Good command of English; additional languages are a plus Proficiency in basic reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Office) Valid B driving license Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and clear communication skills customer-centric communication teamwork mechanical/process knowledge field service troubleshooting start-up and commissioning support
