ph3Job description /h3 pWe are looking for a Senior Scientist to lead and develop innovative solutions for the circular economy in the steel industry, supporting the company's strategy for sustainable products, processes and services. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and assess innovative process concepts for: /li liby-product and slag valorization; /li liintegration of steelmaking by-products into downstream sectors such as cement and construction; /li lireduction of CO₂ footprint; /li lioptimization of energy and material flows across the steel value chain. /li liContribute to EU-funded projects, including RFCS, Horizon Europe and Clean Steel Partnership, through proposal preparation, technical coordination, reporting and dissemination. /li liLead modelling and assessment activities, including Life Cycle Assessment, carbon accounting and environmental KPIs. /li liCollaborate with industrial partners, research centres, universities, technology providers and other stakeholders. /li liSupport pilot and demonstration activities. /li liContribute to strategic roadmaps on circular economy and decarbonization in the steel sector. /li liMonitor RD and innovation trends in the area of competence. /li liPromote cooperation with RTOs, universities, associations and the technical-scientific community. /li /ul h3What we ask for /h3 ul liPhD or equivalent experience in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering or related fields. /li liExperience in hard-to-abate industrial processes, by-products management, recycling value chains and circular economy technologies. /li liInnovation-oriented mindset with focus on industrial deployment. /li liExpertise in slag valorization, with particular focus on applications in the cement and construction sectors, /li liProven experience in EU RD projects, preferably RFCS or Horizon Europe. /li liFamiliarity with LCA tools and environmental impact modelling /li liExcellent communication skills, both technical and executive. /li liFluent in English (written and spoken), with the ability to operate in international environments and contribute to technical and executive-level communication /li /ul h3Additional experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage /h3 ul liExperience in metal sector processes. /li liPhysical chemistry applied to metallurgical processes, including thermodynamics, kinetics and transport phenomena. /li liProcess and flowsheet modelling, including material and energy flow analysis and process simulation. /li liEU policy and regulatory frameworks, including the Green Deal and ETS. /li /ul h3What we offer /h3 ul liThe opportunity to develop innovative solutions with a direct impact on business performance /li liA dynamic and international environment where ideas are valued and innovation is encouraged /li liContinuous learning opportunities through training, exposure to new technologies and cross-functional collaboration. /li liHybrid working model according to company policy and role requirements /li liPerformance Management through an annual appraisal and development process /li liCompany canteen available on site /li liSupplementary healthcare coverage /li liWell-being initiatives to support employees /li /ul pFor the position, the starting gross annual salary will be from € 45.000, with the final offer determined based on the candidate's seniority, experience, and skills, as well as the outcome of the selection process. /p pWorkplace: Castellanza (VA) /p /p
