Job Description Client Manager / Practice Accountant Location: Office-based (with flexibility available after probation) Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm (4:00pm finish every Friday)Join a Modern, Growing Accountancy Practice Are you an experienced Practice Accountant or Client Manager looking for your next opportunity?
Our client is a well-established, forward-thinking accountancy practice with an excellent reputation and a growing client base. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to welcome a talented accountant to their friendly and supportive team.
With a turnover of approximately £800k and a diverse portfolio of more than 400 limited company clients, alongside sole traders, partnerships, charities and not-for-profit organisations, this is an exciting opportunity to build a long-term career within a modern practice that embraces technology and values its people.
The Role You'll manage your own portfolio of clients, delivering a broad range of accounting and advisory services while building strong, lasting client relationships.
Key responsibilities include
Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnershipsPreparing personal tax returnsCompleting VAT returns and ensuring Making Tax Digital complianceManaging client relationships and providing day-to-day accounting adviceWorking collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding client experienceSupporting clients with cloud accounting software and improving efficienciesThis is a varied general practice role with minimal involvement in payroll or bookkeeping, allowing you to focus on higher-value client work.
About You We're looking for someone who has: At least 3-4 years' experience working within an accountancy practiceAAT qualification as a minimum (part-qualified or qualified ACA/ACCA candidates are also encouraged to apply)Experience preparing statutory accounts, VAT returns and personal tax returnsKnowledge of IRIS and Xero (preferred)Excellent communication, organisation and client management skillsA proactive, positive and professional approachYou'll enjoy working as part of a close-knit team and be keen to contribute to the firm's continued success.
About the Practice Our client is committed to providing a modern, technology-led accounting service and has invested significantly in cloud-based systems and efficient working practices. They currently use: IRIS for accounts productionXero as their primary cloud accounting platformSage Payroll for payroll processingTheir client base spans the UK, with many meetings carried out virtually.
