Your new company An established and highly respected specialist insurer is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its London finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with insurance sector expertise to take ownership of underwriting results reporting, month-end accounting and financial controls, while leading a small team in a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Your new role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate underwriting and financial reporting across a complex insurance portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, driving process improvements and partnering with a range of stakeholders across finance, actuarial, reinsurance and regulatory functions.
Key Responsibilities Lead the production of monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results reporting, including premiums, claims, reserves and acquisition costs. Manage and enhance the end-to-end month-end accounting process.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Lead, coach and develop a small team of finance professionals. Partner with FP experience with tools such as Alteryx, SQL or finance systems would be advantageous.
