Accounts Assistant DY5, Brierley Hill£30,000 - £35,000 Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm Looking for someone to start asap Job Purpose This is a newly created role within the company, designed to support a high volume, transaction focused finance function.

The role will play a key role in managing day to day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and strong financial control across processes. As this is a new position, we are looking for someone who can not only carry out transactional duties but also review existing ways of working, identify areas for improvement and help implement effective processes.

The successful candidate will bring structure and organisation to the role, contributing to the development of a more streamlined and efficient finance function. This role would suit a proactive individual who is confident using their own initiative, takes ownership of their responsibilities and is motivated to make the role their own.

You will be encouraged to suggest improvements, drive changes and help establish best practices within the accounts function. Job Responsibilities Process high volumes of financial transactions accurately and in a timely mannerManage purchase ledger activities, including processing invoices, matching, batching and codingHandle sales ledger duties, including raising invoices and issuing credit notesSupport bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are correctly recordedAssist with payment runs, including supplier payments and expense reimbursementsMaintain and update financial records, ensuring data integrity at all timesMonitor accounts inboxes and respond to internal and external queries promptlyReconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepanciesAssist with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and reporting supportSupport credit control activities where required, including chasing outstanding paymentsReview existing finance processes and identify areas for improvementHelp implement new procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controlBring structure and organisation to transactional finance activitiesTake ownership of tasks and contribute to developing best practices within the finance functionWork collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operationsKey Skills Knowledge of SAGE 50 Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProactive approachBe able to take a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvementSupport ad hoc finance duties as requiredIT Literate EMA25
