Reference: 15021Area Sales Manager – UK & Ireland45,000 - 55,000 + Benefits & Company Car North West / Manchester Area | Office Based When Not TravellingA leading manufacturer of world-class food processing, sorting and milling technology is looking to appoint an Area Sales Manager to take responsibility for customers across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional with strong relationship-building skills and technical aptitude to join a respected global business serving some of the biggest names in the food manufacturing sector.

Whether your background is in machinery, engineering, automation, food processing, technical sales or industrial equipment, we're keen to speak to candidates who can combine strong account management skills with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.

The RoleReporting to senior leadership, you'll manage an established customer base across the UK and Ireland whilst developing new opportunities within food manufacturing and related industries. This role is typically:70% Account Management30% Business DevelopmentYou'll work closely with customers ranging from independent processors through to major food manufacturers, supporting projects from individual machine sales through to complete production line solutions.

Following a structured onboarding and training programme, you'll become the key point of contact for your territory and play an important role in driving continued growth across the region. Regular UK and Ireland travel will be required.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage and develop existing customer relationships across the UK and IrelandIdentify and convert new business opportunities within the food manufacturing sectorPromote a range of processing, sorting and inspection equipmentManage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to orderConduct customer meetings, site visits and technical discussionsBuild relationships with production, engineering, operations and procurement stakeholdersPrepare quotations, proposals and commercial agreementsMaintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline activityRepresent the business at exhibitions, trade shows and customer eventsWork closely with internal technical and service teams to ensure successful project deliveryRequirementsProven B2B sales experienceAbility to travel across the UK 1-2 weeks a monthStrong account management and relationship-building skillsTechnical aptitude and the ability to understand engineering or process-based solutionsExperience managing a sales territoryCommercially astute with strong negotiation skillsSelf-motivated and able to work autonomouslyFull UK driving licenceDesirableFood manufacturing or food processing industry experienceTechnical food industry knowledgeExperience selling machinery, capital equipment, conveyors, automation, packaging equipment, processing equipment or industrial engineering solutionsEngineering or technical qualificationsExperience working with production, factory or manufacturing customersWhat's On Offer45,000 - 55,000 basic salaryCompany carProfit share schemeComprehensive benefits packageFull product and application trainingEstablished customer baseGenuine territory ownership across the UK and IrelandCareer development within a growing international businessIf you're a commercially driven sales professional with strong technical aptitude and a passion for building long-term customer relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
