ASSISTANT ENGINEERING MANAGER Job Title: Assistant Engineering Manager Location: Glasgow Salary: £60k+ Shift: Mon-Fri Job Role of the Assistant Engineering Manager A fantastic opportunity has come to market for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join a well-established, market-leading manufacturing business that continues to invest heavily in its people, machinery and engineering infrastructure.

The successful Assistant Engineering Manager will play a key role in supporting the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day running of the engineering department, ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime and driving continuous improvement across the site.

You will be responsible for supporting and developing a team of Maintenance Engineers, overseeing planned preventative maintenance, coordinating engineering activities and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and operational efficiency are maintained.

Sector – Factory Maintenance / Manufacturing Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Assistant Engineering Manager Previous experience in an engineering leadership, supervisory or management position within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance background. Experience managing or supervising maintenance teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Requirements for the Assistant Engineering Manager Recognised engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).

Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical fault finding. Experience coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities. Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers.

Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment. Good understanding of health and safety regulations and engineering compliance. Requirements for the Assistant Engineering Manager Previous experience working as an Engineering Supervisor, Engineering Team Leader, Maintenance Manager or Assistant Engineering Manager in the UK.

Ability to support the Engineering Manager with departmental performance, engineering KPIs and maintenance strategies. Experience identifying recurring breakdowns, conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term engineering solutions.
