Job Description Farm Assistant Location: Rascal Moor, YorkSalary: £33,200 per annumHours: working on a rota across Monday to SundayContract: Permanent, full-timeCDS Labour are recruiting for a reliable and motivated Assistant Farm Manager to join a well-established poultry farming business.

This is a hands-on position supporting the Farm Manager with the daily running of broiler farms. It offers a great opportunity for someone with poultry, livestock or agricultural experience who would like to develop their farm management skills.

Key responsibilities Supporting the Farm Manager with daily farm operationsCompleting daily husbandry duties and maintaining high bird welfare standardsMonitoring feeding, watering, heating, lighting and ventilation systemsAssisting with vaccinations, bird weighing, catching and collectionKeeping accurate records of birds, feed, treatments, supplies and farm activitiesFollowing strict biosecurity, hygiene and sanitation proceduresCarrying out basic fault-finding and minor repairs when safe to do soMaintaining excellent housekeeping across poultry houses, roadways and surrounding areasMonitoring flock performance and reporting any concernsSupporting farm security and receiving authorised visitorsProviding alarm and out-of-hours cover when requiredWhat were looking for Previous experience within poultry, livestock, hatchery or farmingA full UK driving licence essentialA strong commitment to animal welfareAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic mechanical or technical skillsUnderstanding of biosecurity and hygiene standardsA flexible, responsible and dependable approachWillingness to learn and develop within farm managementImportant biosecurity requirement Due to strict biosecurity regulations, applicants must not have any contact or involvement outside work with other birds, including domestic poultry or caged birds.
