Assistant Management Accountant

SF Partners are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team in North Nottingham. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with genuine long-term potential, offering the successful candidate the chance to develop their management accounting experience and progress into a Management Accountant position as the role and business continue to grow.

Assistant Management Accountant North Nottingham - Full Time - Office Based c£40,000 Temp-to-Perm Initially, you'll provide hands-on support across the finance function, working closely with the existing team on month-end, management accounts and day-to-day accounting activities.

You'll also be involved in the introduction of a new finance system, providing an opportunity to develop your systems knowledge and contribute to improving processes. The longer-term vision is for this position to become a permanent Management Accountant role, with increasing responsibility as you build your knowledge of the business and develop your skills.

The role will include: Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts. Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments. Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.

Supporting month-end processes and ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date. Assisting with the transition to Sage 200, including reconciliations, data accuracy and new processes. Supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliation activities.

Monitoring costs and ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and allocated. Supporting WIP calculations and providing information for financial reporting. Working with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and improve financial processes.

Developing your understanding of the wider business and taking on additional management accounting responsibilities over time.

About you

Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role. Good understanding of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.

Confident working across both management accounting and transactional finance. Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail. Experience using Sage 200 would be advantageous, although experience with other accounting systems will be considered.

Someone keen to develop their management accounting experience and progress into a broader role. Organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of their workload. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career.
