A little more about your role...As Associate/ Associate Director and Birmingham Team Lead for Power Systems, you will take ownership of the local team's performance, development, and growth while contributing to the wider UK Power Systems practice.

This is a senior leadership position requiring both deep technical expertise and proven commercial acumen. Technical Leadership & DeliveryLead and oversee the delivery of power systems studies and analysis across the Birmingham team, ensuring quality, programme, and commercial targets are metAct as Project Director on a portfolio of projects, providing technical assurance and strategic oversightDrive the development of new methodologies, tools, and scripts to improve delivery efficiencyChampion software excellence, including building business cases for new platforms and capabilitiesSupport resourcing decisions and workload allocation across the teamCommercial & Strategic GrowthDevelop and execute a clear business plan for growing the Birmingham power systems offering, aligned with the wider UK strategyBuild and maintain senior-level client relationships to position services and secure pipelineIdentify and pursue multi-disciplinary opportunities to expand service offeringsDrive income generation and profitability against defined performance metricsPeople & Team LeadershipLead the Birmingham Power Systems team day-to-day, taking responsibility for staff development, mentoring, and performance managementDrive recruitment to build a high-performing, diverse teamFoster a collaborative culture across offices and with the wider UK and international teamsWhat we are looking for you to demonstrate...Degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialisation (postgraduate qualification preferred)Solid experience in power systems, with a demonstrable track record of leading teams and delivering complex projectsEstablished network of industry contacts and client relationships within the UK energy sectorProven commercial experience — winning work, managing budgets, and growing revenueExperience acting as Project Director or equivalent senior delivery roleStrong understanding of UK transmission and distribution networks, grid connection processes, and relevant industry standardsProactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating at pace across multiple projects and proposals simultaneouslyA genuine drive to build and grow a teamImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
