Associate Fire Engineer

In this role you lead performance-based and code-compliant fire strategies for diverse projects, guiding concepts through handover. You’ll supervise fire modelling work and ensure compliance with regulations while acting as Technical Lead on bids. Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of fire strategies across healthcare, education, commercial, residential, life sciences and regeneration projects.
• Oversee fire and smoke modelling (CFD), evacuation modelling, and smoke control strategies with internal specialists.
• Ensure designs meet regulations, standards and Stantec quality processes (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, NFPA, EN).
• Act as Technical Lead on major bids and complex multidisciplinary schemes.
• Build relationships with clients, architects, developers, contractors and approval authorities; lead meetings and regulatory consultations.
• Support fee proposals, bid writing and strategic pursuits to grow Fire Engineering within the Buildings business.
• Mentor and develop Fire Engineers up to IFE/CEng status; promote technical excellence and knowledge-sharing.
• Lead internal initiatives and contribute to thought leadership within Stantec’s Fire Engineering community.

Key requirements

• Extensive experience producing fire strategies for complex buildings.
• Proficient in FDS, PyroSim, Pathfinder or similar modelling tools.
• Strong communication skills for presenting technical matter to clients.
• Experience in a consultancy environment working on multidisciplinary projects.
