Associate Process Engineer - Water Treatment

Overview In this role you will support AECOM's Water Team in Scotland, contributing to large-scale water treatment projects and the SR27 Enterprise programme. You'll design and verify process systems, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients to deliver integrated solutions.

Pay / Benefits hybrid working model career development opportunities AECOM University volunteering days well-being programs flexible working arrangements Responsibilities Develop and check process flow diagrams, mass balance, P&ID, control philosophy and operating philosophy documents Conduct asset surveys and site visits for existing process/equipment Produce and review client deliverables and make key technical decisions Collaborate with clients and internal teams to secure stakeholder buy-in and share innovative approaches Mentor and supervise junior staff and delegate tasks Represent AECOM in technical meetings and integrate solutions with engineers from other disciplines Key requirements Degree in Chemical Engineering Chartered Engineer status with IChemE or CIWEM Extensive experience in water treatment and technical delivery of large-scale projects Experience leading feasibility studies, optioneering and detailed design for water treatment Mentor, checker and verifier capabilities; contribute to proposals and winning work Knowledge of HAZOP; familiarity with DSEAR is preferred Collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams Mentoring and people management Strong communication in technical meetings Water treatment process design and optimisation Process modelling and mass balance P&ID development and control philosophy
