Senior QA Automation Engineer | Java, API & Playwright

I'm recruiting for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a globally recognised financial markets and infrastructure organisation, working across business-critical FX trading applications.

This is a hands-on automation role covering REST APIs and React-based user interfaces. You'll design and maintain robust frameworks, increase regression coverage and integrate automated testing into modern CI/CD pipelines. The work includes complex FX trading workflows, matching systems and new API/UI components.

Key requirements

• Strong Java automation experience
• REST API automation using RestAssured or equivalent
• UI automation using Playwright with Java
• TestNG or JUnit and Maven or Gradle
• CI/CD experience with GitLab or GitHub Actions
• experience building and maintaining automation frameworks
• Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, HTTP and request/response validation
• Comfortable deriving test scenarios from complex requirements
• experience within FX, trading, financial markets or market infrastructure would be highly beneficial. Exposure to JMeter, AI-assisted testing, GitHub Copilot, Swagger/OpenAPI, observability or accessibility testing would also be advantageous.

Contract details

• Initial 6-month contract with the intention to convert permanently
• Inside IR35
• Three days per week onsite in London
• No sponsorship available
