Robert Half has partnered with a growing services business to recruit for a Bid Manager. About the RoleOur client is looking for an experienced Bid Manager to join their commercial team. Sitting at the heart of the sales cycle, you will take qualified opportunities through solution design, bid development and proposal submission, right through to contract award and handover into delivery.
This is a hands on role for a bid professional who genuinely enjoys writing and shaping content, not just coordinating it. The role also carries line management responsibility for a junior member of the bid team. ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of qualified opportunities, developing costed, deliverable solutions in response to client specificationsTranslate tender specifications and scope documents into detailed proposals, working closely with operational and finance colleaguesDevelop competitive pricing models and commercial proposals for internal sign offLead bid writing and proposal management for assigned opportunities, producing persuasive, evaluator focused contentManage bid plans, timelines and cross functional input across the businessMaintain a library of reusable bid content, including case studies, CVs and method statementsManage a concurrent portfolio of bids at various pipeline stages, working to tight deadlinesSupport bid/no bid decision making and maintain accurate CRM and pipeline recordsManage portal based tender activity, including clarification questions and formal submissionsRepresent the business in client facing meetings during the bid processSupport handover of awarded contracts into deliveryRequirementsProven track record as a Bid Manager, managing the full bid lifecycle from qualification through to awardStrong, independent bid writing skills, able to produce high quality content rather than solely coordinating othersExperience of solution design within a services based or project driven environmentStrong commercial acumen, including pricing models, margins and riskExperience managing multiple concurrent bids to tight deadlinesSolid experience with formal tender and procurement processes and e-tendering platformsStrong project management and organisational skillsExperience managing or mentoring junior colleaguesHigh IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, CRM systems and document collaboration toolsPackageSalary: 55,000Excellent benefitsHybrid working: 3 days per week in the officeRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
