Billing Supervisor

Overview

As Billing Supervisor, you will lead daily billing operations within our Global Finance Services. You will manage Billing Specialists and Senior Billing Specialists to ensure accurate, compliant invoices across client portfolios and entities. You will partner with OTC Revenue Accounting, Collections, and business stakeholders to uphold billing quality and governance. This role drives the end-to-end Order-to-Cash process and resolves complex billing issues. The position is hybrid, based in Manchester, and offers opportunities to shape billing improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily billing activities across allocated client portfolios and legal entities
• Monitor and drive performance against billing cycle targets
• Oversee billing quality reviews to ensure invoice accuracy
• Approve resolution of complex disputes, escalations, and high-value queries
• Manage client and contract setup within billing systems
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to Billing Specialists
• Collaborate with GFS OTC Revenue Accounting and Collections to address issues
• Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and governance requirements
• Produce billing performance reports and dashboards
• Support internal/external audits and maintain accurate client data and terms
• Identify and implement process improvements to billing quality and cycle efficiency

Key requirements

• Experience leading billing teams in a global SSC/GBS environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance (or equivalent) with part-qualified or newly qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA preferred
• Proven experience in billing operations, invoice management, and OTC processes
• Experience handling billing disputes, performance metrics, and billing system administration in a global SSC/GBS
• Strong knowledge of billing operations, invoice management, and governance
• Team leadership, coaching, and performance management
• Experience with ERP and billing systems such as Oracle Fusion or Maconomy
• Understanding of revenue recognition principles and related governance
