BOM Cost Controller

Overview

As BOM Cost Controller, you support New Product Development by tracking and controlling material costs to meet target costs. You will collaborate with Procurement and Commercial teams to provide cost insights for tenders, production planning, and business decisions.

You will analyse Bills of Materials, monitor cost movements, and highlight risks and opportunities to improve cost performance across projects. This role sits at the intersection of finance, supply chain, and engineering within our Group Procurement team, contributing to sustainable transport objectives.

You’ll work in a data-driven environment where your analysis informs strategic choices and cost efficiency across programs.

Responsibilities

• Analyse Bills of Materials to verify cost accuracy
• Monitor and report cost movements, risks, and opportunities
• Provide cost insight for tendering and production decisions
• Collaborate with Procurement and Commercial teams to align with targets
• Produce regular cost reports and assist in cost control initiatives

Key requirements

• Experience in manufacturing, procurement, or engineering environments
• Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
• Ability to work with complex data sets, ERP systems, and Excel
• Confidence to challenge stakeholders to drive cost control and efficiency
