Job description: Red Recruitment are looking for a Boom Assembly & Welding Rework Technician, to join our client team in Kettering. You will be responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient assembly of boom structures and related components.

Welding rework is a secondary element of the role and is limited to authorised rectification or rework where required. All work must be completed in accordance with engineering drawings, bill of materials, work instructions, quality instructions.

Duties Assemble boom sections, sub-assemblies and associated mechanical components in accordance with engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions and customer specifications. Inspect supplier-welded boom structures and components for visible defects, damage, distortion, dimensional issues or other non-conformities, and report concerns promptly to the Production manager or Quality team.

Carry out minor MIG/MAG weld rectification, rework only when required and formally authorized Complete all weld rectification in accordance with the approved engineering or Quality instruction, applicable welding procedure.

Use measuring and inspection equipment to verify alignment, dimensions, fit-up and finished quality, and record results where required Fit pins, bushes, cylinders, hoses, cable-management components and related hardware, where trained and instructed Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, lifting equipment and production machinery safely and only where authorised and trained.

Complete all production, quality, inspection, material traceability and job documentation accurately and on time. Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area, and dispose of waste in accordance with Company and environmental procedures.

Experience and Qualifications Proven experience in mechanical assembly, fitting or a similar manufacturing role.
