Overview

In this role you design, assess and deliver bridge and civil structures across the UK, collaborating with highways, transportation and multidisciplinary teams. You will contribute from concept through detailed design and construction, tackling varied projects for public and private clients. Responsibilities

• Design and assessment of bridges and other civil structures
• Produce and review calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
• Apply design standards and engineering principles to develop robust solutions
• Support structural inspections and investigations of existing structures
• Contribute to feasibility, concept and detailed design work
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across disciplines
• Support delivery of projects within programme, budget and quality targets
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders as required
• Contribute to technical reviews and uphold engineering quality
• Support development of less experienced team members
• Pursue relevant professional qualifications and continue personal development

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in bridge engineering, design or assessment
• Experience with relevant design standards and engineering software
• Understanding of design and assessment of bridges and/or civil structures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in multidisciplinary project teams
• Proactive approach to technical skill development
• Ideally progressing towards ICE or IStructE chartership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
