Building Surveyor

Job Title: Building Surveyor Location: Chelmsford Contract Type: Temporary Pay Rate: £20.92 PAYE Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Surveyor to provide temporary support in managing and supervising various building works.

This exciting opportunity will involve hands-on engagement in ensuring the quality and efficiency of building services across the organisation's property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage contractors executing day-to-day repairs and maintenance. Respond to reactive building defect requests and specify necessary remedial works. Conduct surveys and inspections on various assets, documenting findings in the Council's software system.

Prepare and submit contract documents for maintenance works and building alterations. Liaise with premises managers, procurement teams, and legal services to ensure compliance with policies and legislation. Maintain detailed records of all reactive works, ensuring data accuracy in the maintenance software. Qualifications and

Skills

Minimum H.N.C/D in Construction, Building Technology, or equivalent qualification. Proven experience in building surveying and contractor management. Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and compliance standards.

Effective communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders. A valid driving licence is required. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Building Surveyor to contribute to vital projects within the organisation.
