This is a senior, new - business role suited to a commercial leader with a strong hunter mindset, who can build value-led customer relationships and position DS Smith as the partner of choice for sustainable packaging solutions.
You will play a key role in growing a global, market - leading brand while supporting innovation, sustainability and closed - loop solutions across complex supply chains. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of long- and medium-term segment strategies within the UK Speciality ClusterDeliver profitable growth through strategic new business development, supported by strong account playbooks that culminate in successful tendersBuild and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve in-year and future growth targetsAct as senior point of contact for target customers, leading pitches, workshops and strategic engagementsCollaborate cross-functionally with Sales, CX, Marketing, Commercial, Supply Chain, Innovation and Design teams to deliver world-class, tailored value propositionsCoordinate internal responses to tenders and manage timelines to ensure high-quality submissionsOversee post-award onboarding and ensure smooth handover to Strategic Account teamsMonitor performance through KPI reporting and sales forecasting, working closely with the Speciality Supply Chain teamMaintain strong understanding of market trends, supply chain dynamics and competitor activityTravel as required to support customer and internal engagementAbout YouProven B2B business development leadership experience within Construction, Agriculture or related supply-chain-driven sectorsStrong understanding of production, logistics or supply chain environmentsDemonstrated success delivering sustainable revenue growth through value-based sellingExperience operating effectively within a matrix organisationA resilient, credible and influential communicator with strong stakeholder management skillsConfident presenter with excellent written and verbal English skillsCommercially astute, with experience in forecasting, budgeting and negotiation.
