A well-known Aerospace organisation are currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing purchasing team in Gloucester. Role: BuyerDuration: 6-month contractPay: Up to £25 p/hr (Inside IR35)Location: Gloucester (Fully onsite)This role will play a key part in supporting the business by sourcing goods and services under optimum conditions of cost, quality, delivery, and compliance, while ensuring a smooth end-to-end Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process.
Key Responsibilities:Manage purchasing activities within your scope, from sourcing through to contract managementLead supplier tendering, evaluation, and selection processesNegotiate commercial terms and support the drafting of supplier contractsBuild and maintain effective supplier relationshipsConsolidate supplier performance assessments across quality, logistics, and costDrive supplier improvement and cost-reduction action plansMaintain accurate purchasing data within procurement systemsIdentify and resolve issues and disputes in a proactive mannerSupport sourcing start-up activities and supplier onboardingYou will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, contributing to supplier performance, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements:Experience within Aerospace, Defence or similar environmentsProven knowledge of purchasing methodologies and P2P processesExperience working within a purchasing team using procurement information systemsStrong numerical and analytical skillsIndirect purchasing experienceGood understanding of industrial, purchasing, and contractual/legal principlesProven ability to prioritise tasks and manage tasks across multiple sites.
