the role
Oversee the general upkeep and maintenance of the school premises to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both students and staff. Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks including minor repairs, plumbing, and carpentry.
Ensure that heating, lighting, and alarm systems are functioning properly. Manage the cleaning team to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. Set up facilities for assemblies, events, and meetings.
Monitor the security of the premises, including opening and closing the building and managing access for visitors. Liaise with external contractors for major repair works and ensure that all work is completed to a high standard. Required Skills &
Qualifications
Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities management role. Good knowledge of building maintenance, basic repair skills, and health and safety regulations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A proactive approach and the ability to anticipate and address issues before they escalate.
