Job Description Catering Assistant / Kitchen PorterPart Time | Term Time Only | Day ShiftsWe are currently recruiting for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join a busy catering team within an educational setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food service, and customer care. Working as part of a friendly team, you will support the day-to-day operation of a catering facility, helping to provide a quality food service to students, staff, and visitors.
HoursMonday to FridayApprox. 9:00am to 3:00pm27.5 hours per weekTerm time onlyResponsibilitiesAssisting with food preparation and basic kitchen dutiesServing meals and refreshments in a professional and friendly mannerOperating dishwashing equipment and ensuring crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils are cleaned to a high standardMaintaining kitchen, servery, and dining areas in line with food hygiene requirementsFollowing cleaning schedules and completing routine sanitation tasksMonitoring and replenishing stock as requiredSupporting stock checks and storage proceduresEnsuring workspaces remain clean, safe, and organised throughout the dayAssisting with waste disposal and recycling proceduresAdhering to food safety, health and safety, and allergen management proceduresSupporting the wider catering team with additional duties as requiredWhat We're Looking ForA positive attitude and willingness to learnAbility to work effectively as part of a teamGood communication skillsUnderstanding of food hygiene and health & safety practicesAbility to follow instructions and work independently when requiredReliable, punctual, and well organisedDesirable ExperiencePrevious experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environmentFood Safety Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent)Experience serving customers in a busy settingExperience working within education, healthcare, or contract catering environmentsBenefitsConsistent weekday working hoursTerm time schedule offering excellent work-life balanceSupportive team environmentOngoing training opportunitiesImmediate start available for the right candidateIf you're looking for a rewarding role within a professional catering environment, we'd love to hear from you.
