Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a Civil Site Engineer to support our M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. This is an exciting role offering the opportunity to work on large-scale Solar and BESS projects and help deliver the UK's clean energy future.
Your role will encompass: Supervise earthworks, excavations, grading, drainage, trenching, foundations, and concrete worksVerify subcontractor works for compliance with design tolerances, compaction requirements, levels, and quality standardsReview and interpret civil drawings, surveys, specifications, and method statementsMonitor concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, curing, and quality inspectionsCoordinate trenching, ducting, and infrastructure interfaces with electrical and mechanical teamsSupport inspections, testing, and QA/QC activities in line with ITPs and project standardsMonitor subcontractor productivity, daily progress, plant utilisation, and installed quantitiesIdentify project delays, risks, weather impacts, and resource shortages, implementing mitigation measuresMaintain QA/QC records, inspections, measurements, and site documentationEnsure compliance with HSE standards, RAMS, excavation safety, lifting operations, reinstatement, snagging, and project handover activitiesWhat you bring to
the role
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline2+ years of experience supervising and coordinating civil and infrastructure works within construction and renewable energy projectsExperience in subcontractor management and site execution supportProficient in earthworks, drainage, trenching, concrete works, compaction, and testing proceduresExperience with QA/QC inspections, site documentation, and quality standards complianceAbility to interpret technical drawings, surveys, specifications, and method statementsStrong understanding of Temporary Works procedures, RAMS, and site safety controlsStrong site coordination, progress reporting, and organisational skillsEffective communication and problem-solving skills within multidisciplinary teams and under site pressureDetail-oriented with a proactive approach and strong commitment to quality, safety, and project deliveryYour
