Job Title: Civil Site Supervisor – Water Industry (Contract)Location: South East LondonContract Type: Freelance / ContractOverview: We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Supervisor with a strong background in the water industry to oversee site operations on infrastructure and utilities projects across South East London.

This contract role requires a hands-on professional with a solid understanding of water and wastewater works, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily site activities on water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, drainage, and associated civil worksCoordinate subcontractors, plant, labour, and materials to meet programme requirementsEnsure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standardsOversee installation of water mains, sewers, pumping stations, or treatment-related infrastructureMonitor progress and provide regular updates to project management teamsConduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talksEnsure compliance with relevant industry regulations and client specifications (e.g., Thames Water standards)Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid delaysRequirements: Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within the water or utilities sectorStrong knowledge of water infrastructure, including mains laying, drainage, and civil engineering worksValid CSCS card (essential); SSSTS or SMSTS requiredGood understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the utilities sectorStrong leadership, communication, and organisational skillsAbility to manage site operations in a fast-paced environmentDesirable: EUSR Water Hygiene cardTemp Works CardExperience working on projects within London or for major UK water authoritiesDuration & Rate: Contract duration and rate negotiable, depending on experience
