Job Description Motor Claims Handler | Bolton | £24,479 – £28,000 | Full or part-time | Mon–Fri Got some motor claims under your belt and want to move up into third party and liability work? We're recruiting a Motor Claims Handler for an established general insurer just outside Bolton.
You'll handle motor claims — vehicle and property damage — and be developed into the third party and credit hire side, with funded qualifications and someone senior alongside you while you learn the liability arguments. This is a motor claims handler role built for someone on the way up.
If you've done FNOL or accidental damage and you want the technical work rather than another volume queue, this is the step. What you'll be doing Handling third party vehicle and property damage claims through to resolution Investigating liability — learning to build and argue a position properly Working towards the more advanced files: high-value claims and disputed liability Getting to grips with credit hire: validation, negotiation, challenging excessive charges Speaking with solicitors, insurers and accident management companies Spotting and escalating anything that looks fraudulent Managing your own caseload and supporting the wider team What you'll need Some motor claims or insurance claims experience — FNOL, accidental damage, or similar Appetite for the technical side: liability, negotiation, investigation Confident telephone manner and genuine attention to detail Organised and comfortable across multiple systems GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above Willing to work towards the CII Certificate (fully supported and funded) What's on offer £24,479 – £26,000 depending on experience, with room to grow as you take on third party work 35-hour week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm — and genuinely flexible working patterns Full-time or part-time considered On site in Bolton with free on-site parking Full support and funding towards CII qualifications Holiday allowance that increases with service, plus a holiday sell scheme Your birthday off, and a half-day for seasonal shopping Contributory pension, cycle to work scheme, discounted sports and social Cash bonus for going above and beyond Casual dress, free branded clothing Trained mental health and first-aid staff on site The honest bit You'll be learning on live files, and third party liability work takes time to get good at — the first few months are a stretch.
