Can you lead by example while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service? Here at GXO, were looking for a Class 1 Lead Driver in Sherburn to combine hands-on driving duties with a key role in developing and supporting our driver workforce.
Youll be responsible for delivering driver coaching, inductions, assessments, and compliance support while remaining actively involved in day-to-day transport opportunities. This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work any 5 from 7, working 45 hours per week covering both AM and PM shifts so flexibility is key!

What youll do on a typical day: Lead by example, promoting safe driving behaviours, compliance, and exceptional customer service standardsDeliver driver inductions, coaching, mentoring, and practical training for new and existing driversConduct driver assessments, licence checks, vehicle familiarisations, and competency reviewsSupport transport management with compliance activities, investigations, performance reviews, and development plansWhat you need to succeed at GXO:A full UK valid Class 1 (Category C + E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph cardStrong Class 1 driving experience with strong knowledge of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulationsPrevious experience coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting driversNo more than 3 current penalty pointsNo DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 yearsWe engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
