Cloud, DevOps, Platform & SRE Engineers – National Security

Cloud, DevOps, Platform & SRE Engineers – National Security

Locations: Opportunities across all compass points, including London, Cheltenham/Gloucester, Bristol, Hampshire and Manchester
Level: Mid-level through to Senior / Lead
Clearance: Active DV / eDV required across the majority of roles

If you’re already working high-side across Cloud, DevOps, Platform or SRE and want a clearer view of what’s actually moving across the National Security market, this is the easiest place to start.

I’m currently supporting multiple hires across specialist SMEs, engineering-led consultancies and established secure technology teams.

Different organisations. Different working patterns. Different stages of growth.

The common thread is strong engineering, modern tooling and the chance to keep broadening your remit rather than getting stuck in one narrow programme.

Current demand

• Cloud Engineering – AWS / Azure, secure cloud, IaC
• DevOps / DevSecOps – Terraform, CI/CD, automation, Linux
• Platform Engineering – Kubernetes, containers, platform tooling
• SRE – observability, reliability, performance and automation
• Senior / Lead roles – broader technical ownership, mentoring and architecture

Why engineers are moving

The conversations I’m having are usually less about salary and more about:

• stronger engineering culture
• more ownership
• broader technical exposure
• clearer progression
• better access to senior technical people
• more flexibility where programmes allow

We’ve already helped engineers move into several of these teams, so I can give you a view based on what people actually tell us after joining, not just what’s written in a JD.

Clearance

Most of these roles support live National Security programmes, so active DV or eDV clearance is typically required.
