Cloud Engineer

Contract: 6Months · Rate: 500 Per Day, inside IR35 · Location: Glasgow, hybrid (regular on-site client presence, not full time) A global IT services provider is looking for a senior Cloud Technical Specialist to be the local technical lead for a major client in Scotland, working alongside a nearshore Cloud Managed Services team in Spain.

It's a hands-on role that mixes cloud architecture, engineering and technical leadership. What you'll do Design, build and support cloud infrastructure and platform solutions. Act as the client's local technical point of contact, working with product owners, engineering teams and Centres of Excellence.

Lead one or more engineering lanes, such as AWS, Azure, Infrastructure as Code, observability or platform automation. Guide and review the work of remote and nearshore engineers, and unblock design questions. Review designs and changes to make sure they're secure, scalable and supportable.

Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and platform issues. What you'll need Senior experience as a Cloud Architect, Senior Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer or similar. Strong hands-on AWS or Azure experience. Strong Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform .

CI/CD and automation, ideally GitHub Actions . Monitoring, alerting and observability. Broad knowledge across networking, identity, security, compute and storage. Experience leading or mentoring engineers, ideally in distributed or nearshore teams.

Confident communicating with client stakeholders. Nice to have Cloud Managed Services background. Both AWS and Azure. DevOps, SRE or platform engineering experience. AWS or Azure certifications. AMRT1_UKTJ ...
