IT Systems Engineer, IT Systems Engineer, Infrastructure, Cloud/Azure, Intune, SCCM, PowerShell, Terraform 3-Month Contract London (Hybrid, 2-3 days on-site) Up to £650 per day (umbrella Engagement) Leading financial services organisation requires an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure team on an initial 3-month contract.
This role will suit a hands-on infrastructure engineer with strong automation and platform engineering experience across Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms and enterprise environments. You'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving critical IT services whilst driving automation, Infrastructure as Code and modern platform engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure and systems issues. Support, maintain and enhance on-premise and cloud-based services. Perform root cause analysis and major incident resolution.
Develop and maintain automation, operational tooling and reusable infrastructure components. Support infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation and compliance activities. Collaborate with Service Desk, Operations and Project teams on service improvements and new technology initiatives.
Contribute to the design and evolution of infrastructure platforms, automation frameworks and service standards. Required Skills & Experience Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Terraform and/or Ansible.
Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Intune/SCCM administration. Windows Server environments. Linux/UNIX administration. Exchange Online. Networking, storage and infrastructure technologies. Firewall, VPN, switching and routing technologies.
Hypervisor and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms. Strong understanding of IT security best practice. Knowledge of platform engineering principles, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform-led automation, CI/CD pipelines, Observability and monitoring, Self-service enablement, Secure-by-design service patterns Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments...
