Maintain boilers and associated equipment to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operation.
Complete work within agreed service level agreements, accurately recording activities and outcomes using digital systems.
Manage and prioritise your workload using a tablet-based system, self-scheduling assigned jobs.
Supervise contractors and subcontractors where required, ensuring work meets health and safety requirements.
Maintain safe, clean and organised plant rooms and technical areas.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to support service continuity and deliver a reliable maintenance service.
Essential requirements:
A recognised mechanical or engineering qualification, such as HNC, ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent.
Experience maintaining and repairing commercial heating systems, including oil-fired boilers and gas systems.
Current Gas Safe registration.
The ability to read technical schematics and accurately record work using digital systems.
A good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
The ability to obtain DBS clearance and Security Check (SC) clearance.
Desirable experience:
Experience working with LPG systems, ideally supported by a relevant qualification.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Experience carrying out safe electrical isolation.
What's on Offer
Salary of £36,000–£43,000, depending on experience.
Company van and fuel card.
40-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
1-in-6/7 on-call rota, including weekend work.
Up to 6% contributory pension scheme.
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
Volunteer leave and one paid professional subscription.
Employee discounts and reward schemes.
Ongoing training, further qualifications and opportunities for career progression.
If you're a commercially experienced heating engineer looking for varied, hands-on work supporting essential Defence facilities, this could be an excellent next step.
