Job Description Paralegal - Commercial Property Location: Guildford Job Type: Full-time Salary: £26,000-£35,000 (Depending on Experience) We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Commercial Property department in one of the largest legal practices in Surrey, recognised for excellence by top legal directories.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in Commercial Property who is dedicated to providing outstanding client service.
Responsibilities
Prepare correspondence and legal documents, possibly transcribing from digital dictation. Manage filing systems including the opening, closing, storage, and retrieval of client files in accordance with office procedures.
Handle mail and enclosures for dispatch and arrange for copying as needed. Make appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain up-to-date diaries for fee earners. Prepare conference rooms for meetings, providing refreshments as requested.
Attend to clients and agents in person and on the telephone in a professional and friendly manner. Assist with completion statements, post-exchange, and pre-completion formalities. Undertake online form filling requirements including SDLT forms and submit Land Registry forms.
Obtain information from local authorities and handle registration and all post-completion formalities. Engage in marketing and other activities beyond normal work duties as needed. Maintain confidentiality and operate the firm’s case management system effectively. Required Skills &
Qualifications
Legal background with experience in Commercial Property. Good IT skills and proficiency in relevant software packages. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work to deadlines, cope under pressure, and prioritise workloads effectively.
Demonstrates initiative, a pro-active approach to work, and a willingness to take on responsibilities.
Desirable
Knowledge of Practice Evolve or other case management systems.
