Location: Peckham, South East London Position: PMLD Complex Needs Teaching Assistant DBS Requirement: Must hold both a valid Child and Adult DBS Hours: Full-time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Peckham.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with complex needs, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and achieve their individual goals in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Provide personalised support to pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs. Assist with learning activities tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Support pupils with communication, sensory activities, emotional regulation, and personal development.

Assist with personal care and moving and handling where required and appropriately trained. Promote pupils' independence, dignity, safety, and wellbeing. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, support staff, and families.

Follow safeguarding procedures and individual care and support plans. Essential Requirements Must hold both a valid Child and Adult DBS. Previous experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SEND, or complex needs.

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach. Good communication and teamwork skills. Confidence supporting personal care and individual care plans where required. A strong understanding of safeguarding and the importance of maintaining pupils' dignity and independence.
