Location: Gloucester Job Type: Contract Rate: £27–£30 per hour Composite components don't assemble themselves. And getting them right takes more than a steady hand. We're recruiting for a specialist advanced composites manufacturer in Gloucester, working on lightweight structures for aerospace, defence and other technically demanding industries.
They're looking for experienced Composite Fitters who understand precision assembly, take pride in their workmanship and know the difference between getting something assembled and getting it assembled properly. The work: Fitting and assembling precision composite components.
Structural adhesive bonding and surface preparation. Minor fettling and finishing where required. Working from engineering drawings and detailed manufacturing instructions. Using hand tools, precision measuring equipment, jigs and fixtures. Maintaining quality standards and accurate production documentation.
What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll have at least three years' fitting or assembly experience within aerospace, motorsport, automotive or another precision engineering environment. Experience working with composite materials would be particularly useful, although we'd also welcome applications from skilled mechanical fitters with relevant transferable experience.
You'll need excellent attention to detail, confidence reading engineering drawings and the ability to produce quality work without someone looking over your shoulder. What's on offer? £27–£30 per hour, depending on experience.
