A well-established and supportive secondary school in Maidstone, Kent is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join its department on a part-time basis, working 2 days per week (0.4). The school is looking for a committed and motivated teacher who has a genuine passion for Computer Science and can inspire pupils through engaging, challenging and well-planned lessons.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced teacher seeking a part-time position or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative secondary school environment. The Role As a Teacher of Computer Science,
you will
Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach KS5 where appropriate. Deliver challenging and well-organised lessons that support pupils across a range of abilities.
Develop pupils' knowledge, confidence and understanding of Computer Science. Use a range of teaching strategies, resources and assessment methods to support pupil progress. Assess pupils regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and academic achievement. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Computer Science department. Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other stakeholders regarding pupil progress.
Contribute positively to the wider school community. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a teacher who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate UK-recognised teaching qualification. Has a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
Has experience teaching Computer Science within a secondary school setting, either through employment or teacher training placements. Can confidently teach Computer Science at KS3 and KS4 / GCSE level. Has strong and up-to-date subject knowledge.
Understands the Computer Science curriculum and appropriate approaches to assessment. Can differentiate and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupil...
