Job Description Location: Docklands, London Salary: £ Working hours: 9.00am-5.30pm (Office based) Monday-Friday A well-established residential conveyancing team is looking for an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary to be the engine room behind their fee earners — someone who thrives on getting files exchange-ready, keeping clients in the loop, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks on completion day.
This isn't just admin. You'll be trusted with real conveyancing process ownership — from client onboarding and AML checks right through to SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications. No fee-earning pressure, just the chance to be brilliant at what you do best.
What you'll be doing
Opening files, onboarding clients and running AML/source of funds checks Supporting fee earners through the full conveyancing journey Owning post-exchange admin — redemption statements, completion statements, key release Handling post-completion work: SDLT returns, Land Registry applications, undertakings Keeping every deadline, diary date and critical date on track What you'll bring: Solid experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal PA or Conveyancing Secretary Genuine residential conveyancing background — instruction to post-completion Confidence with AML, onboarding and source of funds requirements Sharp attention to detail and the organisation to juggle multiple files at once Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm Shortlisted candidates will complete a short practical exercise on post-exchange/post-completion work — a great chance to show off what you already do brilliantly every day.
