Data Architect

Overview In this role, you design and evolve client data architectures while shaping data strategy to enable scalable, data-driven decisions. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement migration and integration approaches, applying hands-on architecture skills to complex data landscapes.

The role emphasizes Big Data, Azure, and both open source and vendor platforms, with a focus on structured and unstructured data. You'll contribute to thought leadership and ensure technical quality through design and code reviews.

Responsibilities Define and advance data strategy and data migration approaches Define data integration architecture and approaches Hands-on data architect in complex environments Design solutions for both structured and unstructured data Incorporate non-functional drivers into data design Model data and review architectural decisions and code Leverage Big Data technologies and cloud services (Azure) Work with microservices architectures and evolving data platforms Key requirements Experience defining data strategy and data migration approaches Hands-on data architect experience Big Data technologies experience Azure and related services experience Experience with both open source and vendor data platforms Knowledge of data architecture concepts, methodologies, and approaches Experience with microservices architecture Design for structured and unstructured data Understanding of non-functional drivers in design Data modelling Strong background in Java and REST services (design and code review) Willingness to undergo UK security clearance Collaboration with cross-functional teams Thought leadership and communication Problem solving and analytical mindset Big Data technologies Microsoft Azure and services Open source and vendor data platforms
