Debt Restructuring - Associate

Overview

In this role you join Rothschild & Co’s leading debt restructuring team in London, supporting large and mid-sized complex restructurings. You will build and analyse dynamic financial models, review term sheets and debt documents, and assist senior bankers with marketing materials. You collaborate with borrowers, creditors, and other stakeholders to shape optimal restructuring outcomes. This position offers exposure to top-tier advisory work across Europe within a collaborative, high-impact team.

Responsibilities

• Review term sheets, debt documents and supporting analyses for negotiation
• Build and analyse dynamic financial models to assess cashflow impact and stakeholder returns
• Research and track potential restructuring targets
• Support senior bankers’ marketing efforts with pitch materials
• Participate in transactions as an integral member of the deal team
• Contribute to client-facing analyses and strategic recommendations

Key requirements

• Strong financial modelling capabilities with cashflow forecasting
• Familiarity with debt instruments (bonds, loans, senior/junior/mezzanine, secured/unsecured) and European debt market understanding (desirable)
• Solid analytical skills with strategic, creative problem-solving
• Clear communication, ability to persuade and influence
• Proactive, perseverant, delivery-focused and capable of leading processes
• Ability to identify fee-generating opportunities and potential restructuring targets
