Working within a well-established highways team, you will play a key role in the delivery of a wide range of highway infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients. This position would suit a technically strong designer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior engineers, and working collaboratively within a dynamic consultancy environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver a variety of highway infrastructure projects. Produce detailed highway designs using Autodesk Civil 3D.Work on projects including: Section 278 schemesHighway improvement projectsAccess and infrastructure schemes associated with development projectsLead and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards. Contribute to project planning, technical reviews, and design development.
RequirementsMinimum 7 years' UK experience within highway design. Strong consultancy background preferred. Proven experience delivering highway design projects. Proficient user of Autodesk Civil 3D (essential).Good understanding of UK highway design standards and approvals processes.
Ability to work independently while supporting and developing junior team members. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Highway drainage design experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
