Design Engineer

The Role:

The successful candidate will support our fast paced, dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the engineering team; supporting new product development and drive continuous improvement to existing designs.

Responsibilities

• Supportthe full project lifecycle, including scoping, planning, design, delivery, testing,documentationand handover.
• Develop engineering designs using SolidWorks, applying design for manufacture and design for assembly principles.
• Work closely with the wider team in relation to new product development including design, quality management, marketing and production,
• Work closely with Engineering team to design and document new conversions, develop new processes, update production build manuals, and carry out fault finding exercises,
• Liaise with R&D team in the creation/modification of parts, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials,
• Implementation of new technologies, manufacturing processes and materials,
• Sourcing and liaising with suppliers of purchased components,
• Follow engineering change control procedure where applicable,
• Record and analyse Time and Motion studies to drive improvements in production times,
• Create and manage multiple design projects within set timeframe,
• Be responsible for the correct use of personal protective equipment as per the company policy.

Requirements:

• Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering,
• Experience in a manufacturing industry related role
• Previous experience implementing change control within a production environment,
• Experience in solid/surface modelling using Solidworks or similar,
