About the Role An excellent opportunity exists for a proactive and detail-oriented Security Design Engineer to join a specialist team focused on Electrical Transmission & Gas Transmission Sites across the UK mainland. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, compliant security designs — alongside associated electrical designs (LV & ELV) — from concept to completion.

You will be responsible for producing detailed security system designs (Door Access, CCTV, Power Fence) and electrical designs (LV & ELV) that meet rigorous legislative, customer, and technical standards. The position offers a "cradle to grave" project involvement, from initial site survey through to handover, providing significant variety and technical challenge.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on critical national infrastructure within a supportive and forward-thinking team. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Produce detailed security system designs (Door Access, CCTV, Power Fence) in line with all relevant standards and specifications.

Produce detailed electrical designs (LV & ELV) to support the security systems. Carry out site surveys on Electrical Transmission & Gas Transmission sites across the UK. Develop concept and detailed design packages for both internal and external review.

Follow your designs through to 3rd party approval, construction, commissioning, and project handover. Produce essential technical documentation, including block diagrams, single line diagrams, wiring schematics, and cable/load/material schedules.

Proactively manage design change control and identify project risks, devising contingency plans. Attend and contribute to HAZID/HAZCON and Design Assurance & Review meetings.
