Design Manager - Water Sector

Overview

In this Design Manager role, you lead and deliver multi-disciplinary water projects from concept to detailed design. You will guide a design team, collaborate with clients, and shape the technical delivery across clean water, wastewater, flood risk, and urban drainage. The position supports major programmes in the UK, with hybrid working and offices in Bristol, Cardiff, or Exeter. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary design team delivering water projects end-to-end
• Act as technical lead alongside the Project Manager to ensure value and service excellence
• Oversee design & build delivery, detailed design, and owners engineer services
• Coordinate complex cross-disciplinary collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Plan and drive technical delivery, liaising with clients and guiding the team
• Access and leverage the global network of experts to deliver cutting-edge designs

Key requirements

• Experienced engineer with expertise in Civils, Mechanical and Electrical, Process or related disciplines
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing multiple projects
• Stakeholder management experience on major projects
• Chartered status with a relevant engineering institution preferred; support available to achieve
